Dictionary.com - Dictionary & Thesaurus is a free app that delivers reference content from Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com. It includes more than 250,000 word definitions and over 80,000 synonyms.
Best of all, all of this data in Dictionary.com - Dictionary & Thesaurus comes bundled into the application so there's no internet usage is required! The pay-off for this is that the file size is pretty hefty (more than 50Mb) and it takes longer than most apps to use.
Using the Dictionary.com - Dictionary & Thesaurus is dead easy. Just choose whether you want to look up the dictionary or the thesaurus, then enter your word in the search box. Within just a few seconds the clear and concise definitions from Dictionary.com (or the suggested synonyms from Thesaurus.com) will be displayed. One great feature is the inclusion of a pronunciation button next to each word. Just tap this and the word will be read out clearly to you in an American female accent.
We also like 'Recent' tab, which lists your latest searches, although it would be nice to have the option to email this to yourself. Another cool feature is the 'Word of the Tab' tab, which allows you to impress your mates by learning an interesting new word every day.
